Pikku-Nuusku 4 ever takes over the lower level of the Nelimarkka Museum 25.3.-31.8.2023

Pikku-Nuusku 4 Ever is a commissioned artwork for primary school children, based on the story of Pikku-Nuusku (Little Sniffer) the hamster, who lived from 2001 to 2003. Pikku-Nuusku was artist Ojanperä’s pet hamster, whose life she strongly empathised with as a child, by creating a website for the hamster, for example. The exhibition explores a child’s way of dealing with the death of a pet, creating a unique experience of heaven for Pikku-Nuusku the hamster. The installation gives the opportunity to practice dealing with grief and loss in a safe environment on the child’s own terms. At the end of this text, you will find learning materials to enhance your visit to the exhibition, providing tools for dealing with the emotions evoked by the exhibition.

Authors. Art pedagogy, Emmi Ihalainen, and artist, Tuisku Ojanperä. The exhibition is supported by the South Ostrobothnia Fund of the Finnish Cultural Foundation.
