Ahti Lassila’s Walking Bass Performance & Coffee and Cake
10.10.2026
The Nelimarkka Museum celebrates the birthday of its founder and namesake artist, Eero Nelimarkka, on 10 October with Ahti Lassila’s Walking Bass performance. The performance uniquely combines the museum’s exhibitions with the acoustic soundscape of the double bass.
The celebration begins with Lassila playing in Paintings and Memories, an exhibition showcasing works by the birthday artist, Eero Nelimarkka, and in WONDERS, an exhibition featuring recent acquisitions to the Nelimarkka Foundation collection. Coffee and birthday cake will be served during the intermission. Finally, Lassila will perform in GRANDMOTHER’S LAND, an installation exhibition by Juha Allan Ekholm.
During the musical improvisations, visitors are free to move around the museum spaces, either following the musician or exploring at their own pace.
Welcome to celebrate with us!
